Meanwhile

Meanwhile is a world that mirrors today’s culture and makes merry with all the pointless ways people can spend their time. It is a mix of riveting and dramatic atmospheres that combine with minimalistic comedy through juggling, object manipulation, and visual theater.
The surrealistic and whimsical Meanwhile examines our experiences with the passage of time and how it’s used. The modern world’s absurd priorities gain new dimensions as the work praises things societally considered pointless.
Two jugglers test the spectator’s understanding and how our values might change simply by doing something we feel is unnecessary.
Hesperidien Puutarhasta Pohjoiseen
North of the Garden of the Hesperides (in Finnish Hesperidien puutarhasta pohjoiseen) is a visually enchanting piece that combines contemporary dance and circus arts. The performers bring to life their experiences of a plant habitat shaped by humans.
How does a spider orchid live? What kind of sense of time does the silk floss tree’s trunk have? What kind of movement is evoked by the surface of a whisk fern?
What if in the middle of the eco-crisis we stop to experience the diversity and timelessness of the flora? In the piece, the bodily empathy towards plants builds a bridge between man and nature, creating moments where the viewer can sense the silent world of plants.
Three men from the North

What does hard work, black coffee, woollen sweaters and IKEA all have in common? They are all part of everyday life in the North, and they are all part of this contemporary circus show. Three circus artists from Finland, Sweden and Iceland share the stage to explore, reflect and celebrate their northernness.
Using live music, juggling, comedy, and aerial acrobatics, the artists bring the audience a show as awkward as it is unforgettable.
It's a show steeped in tradition and nostalgia. Inspiration has been taken from the artists collective heritage and interpreted through their circus skills. The show is blunt and to the point in a way that only Finnish humour can be, Swedishly self-aware, and with a hint of Icelandic peculiarity.
Three men from the North premiered as an inside show in 2019 and was adapted into an outside show in 2024.

Millenial Falcon
(working title)
Millennial Falcon” is a contemporary circus piece that explores what it feels like being lost in a world with no future. The feeling of helplessness against a society crumbling under its own values and priorities. In a world of disappointment is there only comfort in nostalgia, or can some hope be found in the future? Can things truly still get better?
Millenial Falcon is a solo circus performance designed to be performed in small and medium sized theaters to frontal audiences.
Millenial Falcon is currently in creation and will premiere in early 2028.

Kulovalkea

Kulovalkea is the Finnish wildfire, that eats its way through the landscape. The uncontrollable and meaningless force that leaves nothing behind but a blank canvas. Through the dreamy landscape, playful details and rhythmic movement, an unbroken chain of fragmented scenes help create a universe both absurd and reviving, playful and entertaining
Acrobatics, object manipulation and contemporary dance morph together and create an evocative space, where not all is as it seems and everything can be turned upside down.
Kulovalkea was the first full length show created by circus collective Sirkum Polaris in collaboration with Nuua company.

The groom stands nervous in front of the altar. Why is the bride still not showing up? From the front row, the mother supervises her son. A drunken cleaner glances at the festive crown from the corner. She has been searching for love year after year without finding it, watched one happy couple after another step on the altar. The wedding march starts, the dream wedding can finally begin. Follows inappropriate love, fierce passion, and gothic gloom. The high level circus technique is accompanied by ironically used love ballads.
